Completing a Connected Interface System for an Immersive Simulation Experience

The Forge® is an immersive experience environment where federal clients explore emerging technologies through scenario based simulations, spatial displays, and interactive decision making.

I joined during the final design phase, when the project was moving from designed experience into client review and implementation readiness. As a supporting UI designer, I helped complete and organize the interface system across the central touch table, large screen map displays, and monitor style interfaces.

My Contribution

My work focused on the connective tissue of the experience: scenario based screen content, naval map icons, tactical visual UI, touch table states, interaction flow, and file systemization. I worked within the established design direction while helping make the final screen system more complete, consistent, and easier to hand off.

Three Surfaces, One Scenario Flow

The final experience connected table input, large screen feedback, and monitor style displays into one continuous simulation flow.

Large Screen UI

Designed naval map elements and tactical icons for the room scale simulation.

Map based layouts, naval icons, monitor style interfaces

Touch Table States

Organized map displays, icon states, and interaction flow for the central table interface.

Map display, interaction states, icons, scenario flow

Monitor Interfaces

Added tactical monitor screens to keep scenario information active, organized, and readable.

My work helped prepare the final interface system for delivery by completing screen content, organizing scenario states, and connecting large displays, touch table interaction, and monitor interfaces into one continuous simulation flow.
