Completing a Connected Interface System for an Immersive Simulation Experience
OceanXperience is an immersive exhibit that places visitors in the role of ocean researchers through a connected series of interactive missions. I joined the project during production, supporting the existing UI direction by adapting screens across different display sizes and preparing documentation for implementation.
I adapted existing interface designs across varying screen dimensions and resolutions, and produced UI documentation to help keep implementation consistent across the exhibit.
Designing for Different Displays
Each station introduced different screen proportions and viewing conditions, requiring layouts to remain legible and visually consistent as the interface moved across formats.
Screen Adaptation
Adjusted existing layouts for different aspect ratios and resolutions while preserving the original visual hierarchy.
Aspect ratios · Resolution · Layout adaptation
Content Fit
Refined spacing, scale, and content placement to keep interfaces readable within each display’s physical constraints.
Readability · Spacing · Display constraints
Implementation Documentation
Documented screen specifications and UI details to give the production team a clearer reference during implementation.
Specifications · UI documentation · Handoff
The work helped preserve the existing UI direction across different display formats and provided clearer implementation references for production.
